Eaton's Ground-Fueling Products Support Rapid Fuel-Distribution and Fuel-Storage Capabilities for U.S. Army

Power management company Eaton has been selected by Isometrics, Inc., to supply ground-fueling products used in the production of tank rack modules for the U.S. Army. Isometrics, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of modular fuel systems designed to provide troops with rapid fuel-distribution and fuel-storage capabilities at any location, regardless of material-handling equipment availability. The contract amount has not been disclosed.
“Eaton manufactures a wide range of products that support the operational readiness of America's military forces worldwide," said Einar Johnson, vice president of customer solutions and services for Eaton’s Aerospace Group. “Eaton is pleased to team with Isometrics to produce tank rack modules that help the U.S. Army quickly mobilize and conduct missions whenever and wherever needed."
The Army's modular fuel systems consist of pump rack modules and tank rack modules. The systems are transportable by air and include baffled, 2,500-gallon capacity fuel-storage tanks and fuel-pumping equipment.
Eaton is among a small group of manufacturers worldwide with capabilities to produce ground-fueling products that meet industry specifications for tank rack modules. Eaton components include internal valves, jet-level sensors, mechanical inward-opening vents and fueling adapters. Eaton's inward-opening vent design is unique in the industry for meeting the U.S. Department of Transportation's leakage-prevention requirements in the event of refueling tanker rollovers.
The contract was awarded to North Carolina-based Isometrics, Inc. by the U.S. Army Contracting Command, which procures equipment, supplies and services to support the Army's global operations.
